Charles & Judy's Story

God has called Charles & Judy Dillon to serve Him through serving those whose lives
have been affected by Hurricane Katrina

Their own experiences in life have uniquely equipped them to address the problems of the storm’s victims. Charles at one time strayed from God, becoming involved in drugs and alcohol, but made a drastic change in 1995. His years of experience in construction and marketing have prepared him to work with people from various walks of life. His love for the Lord drives him to share Christ through ministering.

Judy suffered from abuse, rape, and depression for many years. In 1997 she was re-born because of accepting Christ as her Lord and Savior. In 2006 Judy had a near death experience that drew her even closer to the Lord.

Her hard times have given her a drive to tell others about the Lord who saved her.
He has turned her troubles into victories.

Core Values Of Carpenters House, Inc. Summary

Carpenters House will correlate the Fruits of the Spirit
(Galatians 5:22) into the biblical truths being taught in all aspects of ministry. We will be integrating these values into Carpenters House curriculum. The fruits of the Spirit are the values that our ministry is striving to instill in others and ourselves. Carpenters House has adopted the following “Core Values” to concentrate on, incorporate, and network into its ministry:

Respect

Use good manners continually, and show appreciation to those around you. Try to show Godly character to others and they may do the same also, because of your good example. “For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.” John 13:15

Responsibility/Initiative

Take notice of how you can “jump in” to do something that needs to be done, or how you can help without being asked. If you see something that you yourself can do, then take the initiative to go ahead and do it. Look around you, if someone is carrying a heavy load; lessen the load by helping with his or her job. Be accountable for your actions, and help others to do the same. “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might…” Ecclesiastes 9:10

Integrity (can’t be successful, or survive
Without it)
Do what you are asked to do, in the best way you can. Be kind and sincere when doing or completing your tasks. Ask yourself, “Am I out for what I can get? Am I the center of my thoughts, or is Jesus? And most of all, am I the same in front of people as what I am when I am alone and only God is watching?” “Unless you are honest in small matters, you won’t be in large ones. If you cheat even a little, you won’t be honest with greater things.” Luke 16:10

Loyalty/Honor
Tell the truth and be faithful. Do all you can do to help Carpenters House and the people that are around you . You are sharing yourself with others in a positive way by putting yourself fully into the mission of Carpenters House. “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” Colossians 3:23

Encouragement
Always give uplifting comments to as many other people as possible. Cheer up those who may be troubled or downhearted. When people make mistakes, help them to “get back up” and encourage them to move on. Talk, and act in a positive, cheerful way. “Since you have been chosen by God, and because of his deep love and concern for you.” Colossians 3:12
